How to do Tightlining

Tightlining is one of the easiest things to learn how to do, it's really simple but adds so much to your appearance!
Many of us already line the waterline of our eyes, well Tightlining is lining the upper waterline.

You just want to make sure you try this before you have some where to go, as it might make your eyes tear until you get used to it. I will give written instructions and post the video lesson.

First things first you need an eyeliner of your choice, I suggest a jumbo eyeliner pencil that isn't pointy sharp. I choose this because they seem to glide on with ease and they cover a lot of ground in just a few strokes. I'm used to doing this so I don't tear up anymore and I'm able to use my gel eyeliner with a flat eyeliner brush!
Now that you have your pencil ready lets get started!
Place your index finger on your eyelid and tug upward you will see the roots of your eyelashes and your upper waterline.
Now that you have exposed the upper waterline, you can start Tightlining.
Take your eyeliner whether it be a pencil or a brush and start applying the eyeliner. You can move in a scribbling motion when lining the roots of your eyelashes. You can use a sweeping motion when doing the inner corner.
Fill in the whole waterline.
If it's your first time do one eye then compare you will see the incredible lash doubling difference.

How to Put Eyeliner on Someone Else

Learning how to apply liquid or gel eyeliner on yourself can be hard enough to master but putting liquid eyeliner on someone else can seem to be impossible!
Well my video demonstration showing you exactly how to apply liquid or gel eyeliner will show you how to achieve what may seem improbable!

Before I learned this technique I would have the hardest time getting my subjects to relax their eyelid enough to be able to apply the eyeliner smoothly.

It's a natural reaction for someone to blink, squint, or crinkle up their eyelid when the eye sees an object invading it!
Our brain protects us through involuntary reactions to things like what appears to be a sharp object headed toward the eyes.
That's why a lot of people's eyes start watering when you get too close, it's just a natural defense!

I know that I find it easiest to learn through Demonstration but that's not how everyone can learn the best some prefer step by step written directions, for those of you who feel that way I have put together a written instruction list. It might be a good idea to print this out if it helps you and put it in your makeup bag

1. Start by having your subject look directly at you.
2 Then ask them to keep their head straight, and only move their eyes downward. I tell my client's to look down at their knee.
3 Now you will notice that the eyelid is completely relaxed, have your eyelining brush of your choice ready for the next step
4 Gently place your thumb on your subject's eyelid, slightly pulling upward
*If you're working on someone with a mature eyelid tug gently until the eyelid is smoothed out this will allow you to properly line the back of the upper lashline
5 Now start applying the eyeliner in a sweeping motion from the middle of the lashline to the outer corner
* You can go over it until it is straight and smooth looking
The Inner Corner
1 Have your subject return to face to face contact
2 You then will ask them to look up and to whatever corner is appropriate for that eye
For example if you are working on the left eye have your client look up and over to the left while keeping their head straight
3 Now you'll notice the inner corner of the eye is exposed
4 You can just start lining the inner corner of the eye or gently place your thumb above the area you are applying the eyeliner and continue lining
5 When you are happy with the inner corner line, you can have your client return to the face to face contact with their eyes turned down toward their knee
6 Bring it all together by applying a sweeping motion with your eyeliner brush going from the furthest you can go in the  inner corner with your brush and without disturbing your beautifully applied eyeliner continue lining right across to the outer corner
*Tip to drag or dramatically extend the eyeliner on the outer corner have your subject keep their head pointed straight at you and turn their eyes inward or tell them to act like they're trying to look at the side of their nose, this isn't always necessary the outer corner is usually the easiest part! Only use this if there is lines or wrinkles on the outer corner of the eyes

Below you will find an older video of mine, giving the same lesson but in lecture form, I actually enjoy lecture style learning, and I know some prefer this style also!

How to Put Mascara on Someone Else

I've always found it challenging to put mascara on someone else, when I was first starting out doing makeup on other people.
I would actually be relieved when someone would want to do it themselves!

Until I learned the technique in my video below if I was applying the mascara on a client, I would hold the mascara wand right under the lashes and say blink, then I'd reposition the wand and say I can't imagine doing that now!

I know that I learn best through demonstration, but for those of you who prefer written instruction I have put the directions here.
1 Have your subject (person you are working on) look directly at you
2 Then have your subject turn just their eyes downward looking at their knee. It's important to keep their head straight or this technique doesn't work!
3 Now take notice to how relaxed the persons eyelid is, gently place your thumb on their eyelid and lift the lashes a bit now you have full control of the eye and the chances of your subject blinking has been greatly reduced.
4 Start your application put your mascara wand to the root of the lashes and wiggle up.
5 You can reposition your thumb to get all of the lashes
6 Always remember to lift the outer corner of the eyelid, it will expose hidden lashes. Remember that tip when you are applying your mascara too! Those forgotten or hidden lashes are usually the longest ones too!

I also thought I should include my older video called
How to Apply Mascara on Someone Else
This video is for those that learn best in a lecture style lesson!

Prom Survival Guide

Prom is such an important milestone! Every detail must be perfect from your toenails to every little hair on your head! So I decided to put together a list of Prom Night Do's and Don'ts a survival guide of sorts.

Don't Bake yourself
By bake I mean don't go to the tanning salon one too many times, we aren't supposed to be going tanning anyways but if you must, do it in moderation. Anyone who has been to a prom or formal will tell you there is always at least one orange girl.
Don't Burn yourself
This one is for girls like me, a Last Minute Lucy, don't decide to start tanning 2 days before prom. You could end up getting burnt especially if you are fair like me.
*Do get a Spray Tan or a Bronzer
My choice is Bronzer you can control the depth of your tan and it usually has sparkles in it!

Don't Be a Busted Pack of Biscuits
By busted pack of biscuits I mean don't be hanging out of your dress whether it be too low cut or too short! It looks trashy for prom, there's a time and a place for everything so you will have plenty of chances to flaunt your body!
*Do be a Class Act
Make sure you choose a well fitting dress! Think of Prom as your Ball and look like the princess you are!
My best tip for picking a dress not just for a Prom or Formal but for any special occasion you get a dress for is, an A-cut dress it's flattering on any body type.
Also here are a couple Dress Rules that might help you make the Best Choice
If you have a big bust or you are bigger on top look for a dress with straps or a halter neck line.
If you have big arms or shoulders choose a dress that has a cap sleeve jacket.

If you are smaller on top or small busted then go for a strapless dress and get a good strapless push-up bra.

If you want to make your waist to look smaller then definitely think A-cut dress style, and they have these available in Strapless styles too!
If you want to appear to have longer legs then get a dress that is on the longer side with a split, or a dress that stops right above the knee and don't forget the heels!
If you want to look a little shorter I'm not sure why anyone would want that but maybe you are taller then your date!

Don't do anything too Trendy with your Hair or Makeup
Remember your Prom pictures will probably be hanging up on someone's wall for at least 10yrs, you don't want to look back and say What was I thinking, doing Cheetah Eyeshadow for prom or having to explain why you dyed your hair Blue to match your dress!
*Do be your Beautiful Self just Polished
There's no reason to go overboard!
Go for the fake eyelashes or a whiter brighter smile! Add a little extra flare to everything just don't get nuts!

Last but not least

Don't Drink and Drive
Don't get in the car with anyone who has been Drinking
Don't let your Friends Drive after they've been Drinking

*Do call someone who is Sober to pick you up
Call a cab, a parent, an older brother or sister just make sure you GET HOME SAFELY!

Learn How To Use Makeup Brushes

Maybe you want to learn how to do your makeup like your favorite celebrity, or maybe you had your makeup done for your wedding and you want to be able to redo that look on your honeymoon or other special occasions, perhaps you have makeup brushes and have no idea how to use them!

I know from experience a makeup brush can feel so awkward when you're used to using your fingers, a sponge or applicators! Just like when you go and get your hair blown out at the salon it comes out so much better, then when you do it at home because they use brushes!

So If you have ever tried to learn how to incorporate using makeup brushes into your makeup routine for whatever the reason may be and it just doesn't work out because you aren't sure what brush is for what.
Fairweather Faces Mini Brush Set with Facechart is the absolute easiest way to learn how to do your makeup like a professional!

If you look at the picture above you will notice different color dots all over the Facechart, that is because those dots match rhinestones on the brushes. For example on the eye you will see blue and green dots well on the eyeshadow brush you will see blue and green rhinestones.
You'll be able to match the dots to the brushes you will need for that part of your face! On the back of the Facechart you will find instructions and other uses for the brushes.

It's just so easy, I believe this is such a brilliant idea. A stroke of cosmetic genius!

Here is a look at the back of the Facechart where you will find more valuable imformation.

The creator of Fairweather Faces, Andrea Fairweather Bailey, is a Celebrity Makeup Artist, you can check out her work or I should say see the types of makeup looks you will be learning how to create on Good Morning America! Andrea's famous client is the gorgeous Lara Spencer!
The birth of this Makeup Brush/Facechart system was born out of necessity, like all great inventions! Andrea and her Celebrity client,GMA's Lara Spencer were going to be away from each other for a few days and Lara wanted to be able to do her makeup the way Andrea does it for her! So Andrea came up with this wonderful idea, it worked out so well that Andrea decided to bring this product to the masses, so everyone could learn to do their makeup like a pro!

How to Apply Hair Extensions

My daughter is 10 years old has been asking me for highlights and those bright colored streaks in her hair forever! I'm not ready nor am I cool enough to let her dye her hair. We tried hair chalks and since my daughter has medium brown hair the colors always turned out muted even when I used a white hair spray as a base. I found it was messy also, besides a waste of money. We also tried the clip in extensions that were time consuming and always fell out.

Then one day I was at Sally's Beauty Supply and saw the feather extensions and thought to myself if I can do feather extensions, why not get the pack of blonde strands, fusion extensions and give her highlights! I realized this method is a great solution not only for the tweenies, that aren't allowed to get their hair chemically lightened but for anyone who has gotten bleach highlights that have dried and damaged their hair out. It's so much cheaper then going to the salon!

Things you will need to do this
I-Tip Fusion Hair Extension Blonde pack $33.99US Dollars
I-Tip Fusion Hair Extension Pink pack $23.99
Jar of Beads $16.99US Dollars
Bead Threader $3US Dollars
Last but not least you will need a pair of needle nose pliers, I had a pair at home, they weren't intended to be used for hair but they are the same as the pliers Sally's Beauty Supply sells. I had priced them at the store just in case I would have to purchase them if I didn't have a pair at home Sally's Beauty Supply want $34.99
So your tools are a one time purchase, and I would say the beads last for about 5 times.

Justice for Max

RIP Max You may be gone but you will never be forgotten!

I want to start off by saying I don't hate cops! I have tremendous respect for them, however just because someone wears a badge and is called officer doesn't mean they are a good person or not a criminal themselves!

I saw a video on Tuesday July 2nd 2013 of a black man being wrongful arrested and his dog murdered right in front of him! I'm sure if you are on the internet right now you have seen or at least heard of Max the Rottweiler. I watched the video and it was worse then any horror movie I have ever seen it was any pet owner's worst nightmare!

If you haven't seen the video I'm speaking about I'm going to explain it to you from my perspective. The video takes place in Hawthorne CA (Los Angeles County) in an average neighborhood, or at least it looked average to me. I live near Camden and Philadelphia so the area did not look that ghetto to me. In the first few minutes of the video you can see 3 or 4 cop cars and a SWAT Hummer blocking a street off and a few officers in the distance. You will also notice a black man (Leon Rosby) around age 50 walking his dog (Max)they were just returning from the dog park. The man in the video is using his phone to either take pictures or video of the officers in the distance questioning a few young men ( I'm assuming suspects and witnesses) about an armed robbery. As this man walks back and forth across the street with his dog, who is completely not aggressive toward the police or any bystanders, the man is noticed by the police. The police holler down the block at this man, (it is not clear what they are saying), I think it was "What are you doing here?" but you could hear the man's reply to the officers of "I'm just trying to make sure no ones civil rights are being violated."
Now the part that has me baffled is the cops don't notice the other people recording, what ended up being two incidents  unfolding. My big question is were the people who released this footage white?
After the cops yelled down the block at Mr.Rosby they decided to walk away from the suspects/people they were questioning and arrest Mr.Rosby. This man must of known he was going to be detained because he proceeded to his car and put his dog Max in the back seat. Then you see Mr.Rosby put his hands behind his back in preparation for his arrest. In my opinion that was the Hawthorne Police Dept's first mistake! What were they even arresting him for? I think if you have armed robbery suspects or witnesses being questioned that would trump a bystander recording it!
While Mr.Rosby is being cuffed and I think read his rights Max has his head out the window of the back seat. When the officers surround Max's owner, Max jumps out the window and approaches the officers and his owner who was handcuffed and being backed up. Max was barking at the officers. As though he was confused, he never showed aggression.
What happens next is burnt into my memory forever! Officer Jeffery Salmon, who was clearly agitated at this time, takes out his gun and shoots Max! Not once or twice but he nearly unloads his clip on him! The cop could of tasered the dog if he felt threatened but Officer Salmon executed Max as though he was the Terminator. He shot that dog for no reason other then he could. I had to stop the video at that point because I became hysterical. I just couldn't stop crying. It was horrible!

If you want to view this graphic video and leave me your opinions here is the link
(this video is age restricted due to its violent content)

Saturday July6th,2013 there will be a protest for Max and at the Hawthorne Police Dept. in CA from 8am-2pm. I wish I could be there, I also want so badly to be able to do something about this  and since I can't be there tomorrow I decided to post this blog in memory of Max!

Hot Huez

Hot Huez Hair Chalks

Bright colored streaks in the hair is very trendy right now, I know my 9 year old daughter and her best friend love it! Christina Auguilera rocks these funky streaks on NBC's The Voice! If you want to add a splash of color to your hair but don't want to necessarily dye your hair, Hot Huez Hair Chalks are the way to go! It is way brighter, faster, cheaper and much less messy then using colored hairspray! Hot Huez are all the fun of vibrant hair streaks with no commitment!

I bought this pack for my daughter for her birthday for $14.95 US Dollars plus $7.95 Shipping and Handling
They are so easy to use! My little tip to make these beautiful colors show up a little bit brighter is to use white hair spray on the strands that you intend to color! Here is a picture of the results on my daughter's best friend Cadence!

What? Kmart is Racist!

You will not believe what happened to me at Kmart!

Last week my husband and I were at Kmart getting a little early Christmas shopping done. The Kmart near me is very low key, and they offer layaway.  So we thought lets go clear out all the Barbie, Monster High, and Littlest Pet Shop sections.

When we went in the store had like 10 people besides employees in it. It seemed like a few other parents had the same idea.

So we were just shopping and a young guy starts following us around. I didn't even notice at first I was in my shopping state of mind. Steve (my husband) said "Yo this dude is following us around" I was like " no he's not" and I laughed.

Then I moved to the Halloween costumes and there he was. So I moved to girls shoes and he was there too. Now we know for certain this guy is following us around. I walk to girl's clothes to see if he follows me!

He followed me! So Steve asks him " Did you want to come shopping with us?"
The guy's reply was so funny! He said " Dude if I was following you, You would Never know"
My husband called him "Slick" and I think a "Security Ninja"
We were laughing and kinda pissed.
I said to Steve " Let's just finish what we were doing and get out of here!"
Because my husband was ready to kick this guy's ass.

I get Steve in line and we are calming down now and really starting to laugh about it. Then I step over and look down and isle and see this creep standing there waving his hand at me like hahahaha!
I never even said a word to Steve! I never even told him what he did. I just said to him" Babe I'm going to talk to a manager about this guy"

I approach a woman in the toy isle. She was shoving lil kid's toy shopping carts back onto the shelves.Mumbling under her breathe " If people would watch their kid's then I wouldn't have to do this!" She had the walkie talkie thing that manager's wear on the back of her pants and by her frustration I could just tell she was the manager.

So I say "Hi! How are you? Are you a manager?"
She replies " Tonight I am."
I say "Okay great, I need your help. One of your security team is basically harassing me and my husband" I explained the whole situation to her the following, the arguing with my husband, and him going out of his way to taunt me.
The manager's reply was one of the most racist things, I have ever heard of. She says, "He wasn't following you he was following black people" I said "What?" She said" yeah he wasn't worried about you he was looking for black people" "black people just stole from this store earlier" I said "Wow!" and I started to laugh at her. I said"You assume because I'm white I'm a racist? and your little black people answer is okay with me?"
I walked back to Steve.
Now I told him what she said.
He was so mad, He walked over to her now.
He tells her what the guy did.
She said the same thing to Steve about black people stealing!  He said to her "So I am I supposed to think that the security guard wasn't following me because I'm puerto rican, a little bit darker then the rest of your customers. "
This racist woman turns around to look at Steve for the first time in their conversation, almost like she was sizing up his darkness and tattoos, and she says " No your not, I would never think that of you, that you were a Puerto Rican."
My eyes almost fell out of my head. I was so shocked. Cause to me that means they profile customers at this Kmart location!"
I called Corporate right in store from my cell! It was 8:30pm on a Saturday Night but I got to speak to someone. The woman I spoke to was so nice and could not believe what had happened.
She passed my report on to the NCR National Customer Response.
They were also outraged.

Then I received a phone call from the actual store it happened in. At first I thought they had the racist manager call me. So I didn't call back right away. I called corporate and they hooked me up with a different manager.
The woman was very nice and seemed concerned.
I don't know though, you know how that rolls with co workers.
You tell the customer whatever to smooth everything over, offer them a giftcard and it's done.
I think what this woman did was way beyond a poor showmanship of customer service.
Forget the over zealous security guard at this point, he was just an idiot with a two way, playing Kmart detective.
The manager however is a racist an a reflection on how customer's are received at Kmart!
She has NOT been fired she still works there! They both do!
Tell me what you think about this?

Easy Homemade Teeth Whitener Update

A New at Home Teeth Whitening Stain Removal
Now you may have seen my video on YouTube about Homemade Teeth Whitener using Baking soda and peroxide! If not I have it posted below to check out!

I was reading Allure magazine September 2011 issue and they had some at Home Tooth Whitening ideas!
One of these tips I thought kinda went with my video. So I wanted to share it with you!

First they said to dry your teeth! Apparently salvia can weaken the strength of your tooth whitener!
Try using a clean washcloth to dry your teeth before using baking soda or peroxide to brush with!

This was my favorite tip if you have stains on your teeth take a washcloth and dip it into peroxide and rub it on to the stain!
It will be more effective then just brushing the stains with peroxide or baking soda!
*Now for stain removal I would say if the mixture is not going to be hitting your gums, then go ahead and mix some peroxide and baking soda into a paste like consistency and scrub those stains away!

Be careful peroxide with bleach the color out of your washcloth so be sure your ok with that first!
* If you experience any sensitivity from using whitening products brush with a toothpaste like Sensodyne when using whitening products!

Homemade Blackhead Clarifying Peel Off Mask

Say Goodbye to Blackheads!

You wanna make your blackheads disappear today?

It's so easy to do at Home!
Do you have eggs and lemon juice?
Yes that's it Eggs and Lemon Juice!

You may be asking yourself
 Why Lemon Juice?
 Why Egg Whites?

Lemon Juice is so powerful in eliminating oil and bacteria, clearing away blackheads and tightening pores.
Lemon Juice is a alpha hydroxy acid which is used in a lot of skin clearing products!

Egg Whites really brighten and tighten the skin making it feel lifted, and your pores are smaller after this mask.
Egg Whites also aid in clearing up old break outs!
Now lets get started!
You will first take an egg and separate the white or clear part of the egg and put it in a bowl. You can discard the rest of the egg and shell.
Then you want to add 1 tsp. of lemon juice.
I use 1 little packet of lemon juice which is about a teaspoon.

Start with a fresh clean face, this will make the EggWhite and Lemon Juice Mask stick better!

Mix them together.
Your mixture will be thin.
Apply it all over your face.
Avoid your eye area!
Once you have applied it all over your face, you will have to wait for it to dry.
It takes about 20 minutes sometimes a little longer.
The mask will be stiff and tight when it's completely dry.
When your mask is dry start peeling away your blackheads.
I always start around my nose or my forehead!
Peel off as much as you can and then rinse your skin, you can use a washcloth to scrub away any stubborn parts.
After the rest of the mask as been rinsed away, wash your face again with your favorite cleanser.
I Love peel off face masks and most of them I have tried break me out except for this one!
It feels so good!
You will notice instant effects!

New Mascara! MAC False Lashes Extreme Black

MAC False Lashes Extreme Black

Set to be on shelves on October 6th 2011
in the USA
It will go for $19.99 US
 $22.50 in Canada

I am so excited for this Mascara to come out!
When MAC introduces a NEW permanent product I get crazy, because it means the product is really good!

I'm a huge fan of MAC's mascaras anyway,my favorites are X Mascara and Zoom Lash!
I probably wouldn't love MAC mascara so much, if I didn't work for them in the past.
After having an opportunity to try them all when I worked there I can honestly say MAC mascaras do exactly what they say they will.
They aren't all that expensive compared to other high-end makeup brands.

Now to discuss the Mascara itself.
It is supposed to be lightweight.
Highly pigmented to give lashes the most extreme black color.
Up lifting to give your lashes a slight curl.
Rich to fill in sparse areas of your lashes.
It sounds Dreamy! I can't wait!

If you get it before me tell how you like it! Leave me a little first impressions comment!
If your excited too tell me in the comments!

Skincare that you Eat!

I always say you have to treat skin conditions and concerns from within.
A Makeup artist and a Nutritionist have created a serum that uses Powerful Antioxidants that are applied directly to the skin and ingested!

Its a blend of potent antioxidants that doesn't leave your skin sticky or discolored.
I would love to try this because it's like a dream product editable skincare with no sugar or calories. You get 3,000 ORAC units from ingesting this serum twice a day. ORAC is the measurement of Antioxidants. It stands for
I think that you only get around 1500 units from eating the proper 5 veggies and fruits a day!
I know I almost never eat 5 servings of vegetables and fruits in a day.
I try but I never make it! That is just a major health benefit if that is true!
It is supposed to protect your skin from free radicals while boosting collagen from the inside!
I would be willing to try this out for 28 days!
I love this idea it's exactly what skincare should  be and is meant to be, a combination of protection on the outside and nutrition and rejuvenation on the inside.
I'm only skeptical about this product because a lot of people are and can be very sensitive to acidic skincare and skin treatments with grape seed oil and different berries!

Violent Lips Temporary Lip Tattoos

Oh my God! I am so fascinated by Violent Lip's Temporary Lip Tattoos!

Now there is a time and a place for everything but I don't know if I ever will have the opportunity to wear little cherries all over my lips or pink and purple cheetah lips! Maybe I can on YouTube!

I have clients that would wear these for work or going out!

I think these are so cool, even genius if they made them in just lip color shades or like lipstick shades then just add gloss and your good all day!

It could change the way we use lipstick like for example wedding makeup without lip touchups.

For now I want to order a pack of these to try to see if they are easy to use, how long they last, and how well do they show up.
I know they look FUN! I can't wait! The tattoos with just the word on the bottom lip start at $9.99 US and the prints are around $15 US.

What ones should I get?
What one would you get?
Talk about thinking outside the box!

What you need to know about buying Makeup

I have worked for the MAC counter, Estee Lauder Counter and Clinque.
I am blogging truthfully about sales tactics and how easy it is for unsuspecting people to get run over by sneaky little tricks,
the Cosmetic Companies don't want you to know about!
I want you all to have control over what you purchase and really use the items you get.
Unfortunately being a sales person relies on the Power of Suggestion!
Learn to read the signs of the cold world of sales.
Have you ever walked in to the MAC store or any makeup counter for that matter and been completely sidetracked? *Yeah
You were just going in to get your foundation or mascara and end up walking out with eyeshadow quads, lash primer, concealer, powder and you even ended up trying a whole different foundation, a new formula, because the sales person told you it's better then what you like!
If this hasn't happened to you, it can!

I just came across some old notes from a MAC class, I guess it was a selling update, because what I jotted down was all about making people buy more than they want or need!
I am not talking about tactics that are agressive, I mean little subtle suggestions that would possibly lead to a bigger sale!
I was so shocked when I read the hand out they gave us that day!

It reads:
Try to not ever let someone leave without buying more then one thing.
*Does that explain why every time you try to just go buy your lipgloss you get asked if you would like to see the matching lipstick, lip liner or perhaps if those don't work lip primer.

Always try to make a sale of at least $50, if you are not doing this you will fall behind on your daily goal.
*Again if you stop in the mall just to pick up your bronzer for example the sales person is not pleased until they have shown you the brush you should be using to apply your bronzer.

Read your customer figure out how much you can sell them by their personality, create concern and then address that concern.
*This one was really disturbing to me because this means that employees are not being trained to truly help people they are being taught to manipulate customers looking for help.
"Creating a concern" is a real mind game to play on someone, this is when your beauty advisor/sales person, knows they are about to lose you they will say something like do you want to try our new foundation it will help you with your dry skin! Bam you gott'em now the customer wants to know why they need this particular foundation!

When you are asked to go get a product to try on a customer bring back 3x times the amount of product to demo on the them.
So this is when you go to your favorite makeup counter and think I do want to try that new eyeshadow I saw in the magazine  and the sales person/beauty advisor came back to you with not only the eyeshadow you wanted to try but eyeliner, mascara, eyeshadow primer and brushes!

My advice comes from being on both sides of that makeup counter as a customer and as a beauty advisor/sales person.
1.) Have a list of what you want to buy. If you don't know exactly what product, try to stick to what you went to the makeup counter for, it's so easy to be sidetracked.
2.) Don't buy things you know you won't wear. If you know you like pale pink eyeshadow don't let someone tell you you should wear electric purple.
3.)Whenever a sales person is really pushing a product be leery.  They may have another incentive for pushing so hard.
If you want to get the blush you have worn for years but the sales person/ beauty advisor is suggesting a strange blush that don't even match your skin, over and over you know this person probably doesn't care what it looks like on you or what you wanted, they just need to move that certain product!

There was an older woman I worked with a Estee Lauder, she was the top sales person at the counter for like 100 years. She was cool, but you couldn't turn your back on her. Sweet old lady on the outside and barracuda on the inside. She could cause a customer mental anguish. She would say things like while your here for your mascara you need to do something about your acne, wrinkles, oily skin, dry patches, age spots. People would walk away and then come back I was always surprised. What she would do was plant a time bomb in their mind, meant to explode later, the customer is left thinking "Do I have wrinkles?" She was a master of manipulation.
Sad to say she isn't the only sales person like that!
